recent things i've done / have been done to me

Jacob A. Bennett wrote a sweet and accurate review of Eyelid Lick on Phantom Limb.

Triple Canopy has a recording up of my reading with K. Silem Mohammad, Jane Gregory, Joe Luna, and Jacob Wren. I have yet to ever listen to myself read, but I think I'm nearing being ready for that.

I went on a little book tour: Seattle, Portland, Brooklyn, Amherst, Philadelphia, DC, Chicago, Berkeley. These cities are saturated with lovely people.

Louis Esterhuizen asked me some questions about US poetry and my own for the South African blog Versindaba.

Jonathan Aprea interviewed me at BOMBLOG. I loved doing this.

Elizabeth Pusack wrote some sick shit about Eyelid Lick on the Tin House blog. Also, Albert Goldbarth, who I once followed to a strip club, and Ben Mirov, who was once about to let me crash on his couch.

PoFound's Harriet blog somehow noticed I've been reviewing my book.

Some untitled poems from Eyelid Lick are in the much-yearned-for new Octopus issue 15, alongside PDX-ers Ethan Saul Bull, Emily Kendall Frey, and James Gendron.

My poem "Something True" in Tin House issue #54 alongside Brandon Shimoda, Mary Ruefle, Steven Milhauser, and Amelia Gray

A section of Eyelid Lick, its first draft, and a lengthy interview with me about revision in Draft: the journal of process issue #2.

A review of Eyelid Lick by Seth Abramson in The Huffington Post.

Telephone Books included my googled-rap-lyrics version of a Shakespeare sonnet alongside a bunch of ridiculously visionary shit by a bunch of too-good poets in their book The Sonnets.

The Kidnap folks all read for Megan William's excellent Boise reading series Ghosts & Projectors.

I read Rachel's poem "Mannequin Garden" for Word Riot's 11.12 issue.

An unattributed transcript of a conversation involving me, Travis Meyer, Damien Elm, and Ryan Donaldson is Poor Claudia's Crush #11. "Psychedelic trips, gnosis, creation myths, death, oblivion, relativism," are all covered, and we also spend some time talking about goth kids.

A write-up of a reading in Seattle I participated in by Cate McGehee in The Stranger's SLOG.

Read in front of a pretty huge crowd that included fellow readers Eileen Myles and Patricia Lockwood for Eyelid Lick's release. Bad Blood threw the party, and Robert Duncan Gray posted some photos (and apparently some video) of it.

Ben Mirov selected a poem of mine for PEN.org's poetry feature.

Megan Kaminski selected my poem "Berlitz" and it's German-to-English translation for Everyday Genius.

Zachary Schomburg read a poem from Eyelid Lick on his killer fucking porch for the Poets.org Tumblr.

Dena Rash Guzman picked "The Word for the Book" (later renamed "Book God") for Unshod Quills issue #5.

Matty Byloos and Carrie Seitzinger asked me to write a top 10 list for Small Doggies; I found "The top 10 things to arrive with" and wrote about them.

Chris Cottrell surveyed the Portland poetry scene for The The and said nice things about me and Kidnap

HOUSEFIRE asked me to write a poem called "The Soft Face of a Rabbit"

BT Shaw put my poem "The Inaccurate Echo" in a forreal newspaper, The Oregonian.

I posted on > kill author's blog about Fortunato Salazar's story "Kudos to the Parasitic Anthropods".

Joseph Mains and I published some collaborative poems in Anomalous issue #5. Issue #4 is the first instance of "if not for kidnap" being used outside of a Kidnap context.
